UP Deputy CM Pushes for Stricter Voter Verification, Stresses SIR’s Role in Identifying Infiltrators in Hathras
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, during his visit to Hathras, emphasized the crucial role of the Special Intelligence Register (SIR) in identifying infiltrators and ensuring accurate voter lists. He urged citizens to register themselves, highlighting SIR forms as essential for new voter verification.
Pathak urged citizens to proactively confirm their presence in the electoral roll, stressing that voter registration is not just a constitutional right but also an essential civic responsibility. He noted that completing the SIR form has now become a vital step for new voters, allowing authorities to authenticate identities more effectively and prevent fraudulent entries in the system.
Speaking on the broader significance of SIR-based verification, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the mechanism helps authorities distinguish legitimate residents from suspicious or unauthorized individuals, thereby strengthening the integrity of the democratic process. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible voter is included in the list and that any form of infiltration is identified and addressed with precision.
As Uttar Pradesh continues its efforts to maintain transparent and reliable electoral records, Pathak’s remarks in Hathras reflect the administration’s sharper focus on security-driven voter authentication. The call for active citizen participation, combined with strengthened verification procedures, signals a broader push to uphold the credibility of electoral rolls across the state.
